...let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up. So then, as we have opportunity, let us do good to everyone, and especially to those who are of the household of faith.
Galatians 6:9-10

Zion's Harvest aims to provide wholesome, seasonal, and sustainable food security for our family of faith and neighbors in our community. We grow food to share among subscribing Harvest members on Market Days. We invite members into the Harvest Kitchen to learn how to prepare and enjoy the food they receive. And we share Harvest Meals together throughout the season.

Led by our pastor and his family, we use the church land to grow food using traditional methods that require low overhead, minimal external input, and use mostly hand tools and local resources to enhance soil fertility and ensure regular harvests of healthy food for years to come.

The "veggie volume" will vary throughout the season depending on what is ready to harvest, but members can expect to receive a minimum of 6 types of produce including fresh herbs. Additional produce may be available at our "bounty table."

Sample baskets:

Spring: Cilantro, chives, sugar snap peas, radishes, beet greens, fresh salad mix

Summer: Basil, parsley, tomatoes, peppers, eggplant, summer squash, fresh salad mix

Fall: Potatoes, thyme, winter squash, onions, kale, fresh salad mix

Harvest Meals

Plants grow best in community and so do we. Members are invited to share three special seasonal meals with us at Zion prepared from ingredients fresh from the garden. Get to know other Harvest members and tour the garden beds as the kids play together.

Harvest Kitchen

As you help us grow, we help you grow. Zion's Harvest Kitchen teaches members how to use and enjoy the produce they receive throughout the season. We will host 5 classes, once each month. All can learn and grow from these classes, including people who may feel overwhelmed with the idea with cooking from fresh ingredients and people who would maybe like to eat veggies but haven't yet learned to enjoy it.

We plan to build up members' culinary skills to give them greater confidence in their own kitchens, whether it be cooking for themselves or for company.

Classes in 2023

Your membership and donations to Zion's Harvest supports feeding people locally, both physically and spiritually. We grow together, enriching, bolstering, and equipping our community to serve and support one another until Jesus brings us together in the final—and best—harvest of all.

The point is this: whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully...He who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will supply and multiply your seed for sowing and increase the harvest of your righteousness. You will be enriched in every way to be generous in every way, which through us will produce thanksgiving to God. For the ministry of this service is not only supplying the needs of the saints but is also overflowing in many thanksgivings to God.

Thanks be to God for his inexpressible gift!

2 Corinthians 9:6, 10-12, 15

Thank you for your prayers and support!
