2nd & 3rd Grade
Mission Statement of Second and Third Grades:
The mission of Zion’s second and third grade classroom is to foster spiritual, social, emotional, and intellectual learning, while developing a Christian worldview and solid foundations in reading, math, science, and social studies. With Christ at the center and the cross as the focus, children will grow in faith toward God and in love toward those around them.
Introducing Miss Happ
I grew up on Long Island and attended public school there
until tenth grade when my family moved to St. Louis,
Missouri, while my father attended Concordia Seminary.
After graduating high school I returned to New York for
college, and graduated with a Bachelor’s in Early Childhood
Education from Concordia College in Bronxville. While in
college I studied American Sign Language. Both during and
after college, I taught Sunday School for children of various
ages, from kindergarten through fifth grade. I moved to
Vestal in ’09 and currently live in Owego. I attend Grace
Lutheran Church in Vestal, where my aunt, uncle and
cousins have been members for years. I am excited to be
here at Zion and look forward to working with the students
as they learn and grow.
