Principal & 4th & 5th Grades Mission Statement
The mission of Zion Lutheran School is to provide spiritual, emotional, physical, social and intellectual learning with Jesus Christ at the center. In the classroom this means providing a place in which children feel confident learning challenging material in loving atmosphere, while growing in their understanding of Christ and His Word. I grew up in New Jersey, but I have lived in New York for the past 17 years. I lived the “pine barrens” of New Jersey, so I have fond memories of a forest of pine trees and mounds of sand. Of course the ocean also plays a large role in the memories of my childhood. My undergraduate study, consisting of co- majors in creative writing and elementary education, was completed in 1989 at Cedar Crest College, where I received my B.A. in Education. In Spring of 2001, I completed my Master of Science in Education degree at Elmira College. My experience before Zion Lutheran School includes over 10 years of teaching and administration in both public and private institutions. Since coming to Zion in 1999, I have been taught true joy in learning from and teaching children in a school where one is free to share love of Christ. I am grateful to be a part of the family here at Zion. -Janet Pawlak Principal |
