Pre-K Mission Statement: The mission of Zion Lutheran Pre-School is to provide a quality Christian education while encouraging the children to grow spiritually, cognitively, physically, and socially through the challenging activities that we provide. I grew up in Tioga Center, NY and currently reside there. I attended Zion Lutheran School for Pre-K in 1986 and was a student there until 1995. My parents, sister, and I are also members of Zion Lutheran Church. In December 2005, I graduated from Mansfield University with a Bachelors of Science in Psychology with a counseling concentration, after interning with the Mansfield University Advocacy Association. I have also worked for the Boy Scouts of America at Camp Gorton in Dundee, NY since 2002. This has sparked my interest in child therapy, which I may look into when I pursue my Masters. It is a unique experience for me to be teaching this program after once being a student in it! Everyday the children engage in activities that encourage cooperative and parallel play, teamwork, artistic expression, physical coordination, and spiritual growth. Parents are always welcome to help out or make suggestions and are occasionally asked to support our projects, field trips, and special activities. My hobbies include fencing, black and white photography, being crafty, and being a Boy Scout. -Jen Schendel |
