I grew up in North Tonawanda, New York, (between Buffalo and Niagara Falls) and attended St. Matthew Lutheran School from Kindergarten to Grade 8. I graduated from North Tonawanda High School in 1996. While in high school, I was an active member and officer of the church youth group, Young Christians for Christ. I taught Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, and Spanish for one year at St. Matthew. I also taught Sunday School at Village Lutheran Church, Bronxville, NY and worked in their after-school care program. I did my substitute teaching in Kindergarten-Grade 1 at Trinity, West Seneca after my graduation. I met my husband Peter, through his Dad who is a music teacher here. We were married on August 20, 2005 and live in Binghamton. My mother, Dorothy, lives in North Tonawanda. My brother, John, his wife, Debbie and their daughter, Allison live nearby in the Town of North Tonawanda. My father Richard, died in 1993.
