Fund Raising Gala Print E-mail
Zion Lutheran School Fund Raising Gala Raises over $15,500! On March 15, 2008, over 100 guests came together for an evening of elegance at Zion Lutheran School in Owego, NY.  The Fund Raising Gala began with a silent auction and dessert while guests enjoyed music from "Variations String Quartet."   The guests were blessed with words of testimony from the school principal, Janet Pawlak, and encouraged by former Zion student, Alison Huizinga, RN.  The keynote speaker, Mr. Christopher Seavey, Chairman of the Department of Youth Ministry at Davis College, inspired, encouraged and challenged the Gala guests to play a crucial role in Zion Lutheran's Christian alternative for academic distinction.

Thanks to the generosity of many guests, the school was blessed with proceeds of over $15,500 in one-time donations, annual pledges, matching funds and silent auction purchases.

Jennifer Chase, Gala Coordinator, shared, "We were blessed by the presence of so many from our community.  Thank you for your generous response to our invitation to partner with us financially as we provide Christ-centered education here in the Southern Tier!!"

Zion Lutheran School will offer a new After School-Extended Care program to students from Kindergarten (5 year olds) through age 12 in the new 2008-09 school year. Times of operation will be 2:30-5:30 p.m. Monday-Friday for ages 5 years to 12.  Cost is $9 per day per child.  Owego-Apalachin school buses will transport any children attending Owego-Apalachin public schools.
