Strawberry Festival |

Please join us as Zion Lutheran School builds its
float for the Strawberry Festival. The
Festival will take place on Saturday, June 19th. Those who can help
pick up the float parts and pieces should meet us at Zion at 8:15am on Saturday
morning. We will pick up
the float “parts and pieces” from Zion and then proceed to the starting point
of the parade. Those who can help us put the float together should meet
us at the starting point of the parade at 8:45am. The location on Temple or Fox St. in Owego is
unknown at this time, but we will let you know as soon as the Parade Committee
gives us this information. PLEASE BRING A STAPLE GUN AND STAPLES
TO HELP ASSEMBLE THE FLOAT.
Put your name on the stapler so that it can be returned to the correct
person.
If you are
unable to help put the parts and pieces of the float together, but your child
would like to walk (or ride) with the float, please plan to arrive at the
parade starting point no later than 9:45am, as the parade will begin promptly
at 10:00am. The parade route will bring
our group back to the beginning location, so that parents can pick up students
walking with us at that location after the parade. Parents are invited to walk with us as
well. Please have your child wear his or her blue Zion fieldtrip
t-shirt and comfortable slacks/shorts (preferably red).
We also need
people who can pull the float apart after the parade. If you can help
disassemble the float, please meet back at the starting point of the parade as
soon as the parade is finished. PLEASE BRING A FLATHEAD SCREWDRIVER
AND A WIRE CUTTER—to be used in disassembling the float
(pulling staples, etc).

Zion Lutheran
School is having a Rummage/Bake sale on Saturday, June 5, from 9:00am-4:00pm and
Sunday, June 6,
from 12:30-4:00pm. On Sunday, a delicious chicken barbeque, will be available
to take home, prepared by our own Carrie Kunte., Bake sale items will also be
available. Yum!, The plan is to have the rummage sale upstairs and the,
barbecue outside so we’ll have fun both indoors and out! Start, cleaning out
those attics and garages for all the wonderful treasures you no longer need,
but others will be unable to resist! Then, just bring it in, and drop it off at
school. We still need plenty of volunteers to bake and work the rummage sale.
Please come out and support this event as the proceeds from the BBQ will
go to the scholarship fund and the Rummage sale money will go back to PTL to
help pay for your child's Gym and Art classes! And remember: Many hands make
light, the work. Thank you!
