SECOND AND THIRD
GRADE CLASSROOM
"No more pencils, no more books,..." There is only 4 more weeks of
school left! Each year seems to get shorter and shorter and the list of
material to learn gets longer and longer! We can do it!
We are winding down in every subject. We are still learning new material and
will be until the final day of school. Please be sure that your child still
gets to bed at his/her normal time and remind him/her that homework still needs
to be completed until the final day of school.
Language Arts has been a challenge for the second grade students, but not to
fear as we will be repeating, reviewing, and relearning all the Language Arts
concepts in third grade. The students are learning to type their journal
paragraphs on computer. They were all very excited about learning this and
worked very diligently to complete their first assignment!
It would be nice if the students kept a journal over the summer. Writing is now
considered to be just as important as reading for every student's future. The
only way to get better at it is to practice. Keeping a journal is a fun way to
practice.
The 3rd grade students finished the State Testing
for Math and ELA this past month. They were challenging tests but the students
did well.
We are taking a field trip to the Science Museum on the 7th of this month. Please take time to read the
information I sent home regarding the importance of science museums and why
students should visit them.
The end of the year will be quite sad. I will be "graduating" my
third grade students to Miss Pawlak. They have come a LONG way. I will miss
Cameron, Jacob and Johnny very much! I know they will be in good hands and they
all have a bright future ahead of them!
I'm happy to say that the second grade students will be my third grade students
next year. I can't wait for the current first grade class to join us in our
classroom!
Although the Student of the month for May will know on June 1st of his/her reward, it will not be announced
to everyone else until the awards ceremony at the end of the
year.
We're looking forward to our final FUN day!
Thank you parents for everything you've done to make your child's year a
successful one here at Zion Lutheran School!! You guys are
priceless!!
Who wouldn't want to go to Zion Lutheran School?
Have a SAFE and happy summer!
Blessings,
Ms K.
