PRESCHOOL CLASSROOM NEWS

Parents, welcome to our last month of school! I cannot believe it is almost over already but it is that time of year! With the end of the year comes a lot of extra activities!

June starts out with our Rummage & Bake Sale and Chicken BBQ on Saturday the 4th. We are still looking for donations for the rummage sale if you have anything you would like to get out of your house. We also
need people to work the rummage sale so if you can help, please let me know. All you have to do is collect money! Finally we need bakers, and a lot of them! Please ask if you have questions, and thank you to all who are already helping out! The funds will go to help out with our great music and art program and also to help fund the updates we want to make to the computer lab!

In June I might want to take one final field trip...I will let you know if all of the plans work out and send home a field trip slip!

The next June activity happening that you need to be aware of is Parent Teacher Conferences for MWF parents. If you are planning on sending your child to Kindergarten in the Fall I will have conference times available for you so we may discuss kindergarten readiness. The sheet will come home soon so you may request your time from those that are available.

In the MWF class we will be finishing up those Pre-decodable books so you have time to get them all in before the end of the year so I know who is getting a special reward for reading all 20 this year! For both classes we will close with our farm unit, which is always a hit.
We will wrap up our school year with a very busy week starting on
Friday, June 17th. This is Graduation night and closing program for all 14 preschoolers! Please have your children to the Pre-K room between 6:45 and 7PM. It is not necessary to show up really early. We will start our program promptly at 7PM (or as promptly as we can while motivating 14 pre-schoolers!). Dress fir the evening should be "Sunday Best", but think cool as it is always hot in the church in June (Don't worry, it's a short program being that it's just our class!). We will go downstairs for a Graduation treat after the program.
On
Monday and Tuesday, June 20th & 21st, there will be NO SCHOOL for Pre-K just like in years past. However, on Wednesday, 6/22, all Pre-K children are invited back for our field day for a day of fun in the sun! Lunch will be provided, if it is something your child will eat, and there will be other goodies as well. More information is in the article section of the Knightly News so be sure to read it completely! Mrs Robinson and I will both be here that to make sure all the students are attended to, but parents are welcome to come and enjoy this day with us that PTL is sponsoring once again this year!

And if that isn't enough fun for all, Saturday, June 18th, (right in the middle of all the action) we have our Strawberry festival float. Anyone interested in having their child ride on the float or to help in any other way, needs to see Miss Pawlak. We have a tough tradition to keep up as we have won first place for several years running! Come join in the fun!

Thank you to everyone who sold candy bars this year! This was a terrific PTL fundraiser and we really appreciate everyone's hard work!

As a reminder, if your child is attending kindergarten at Zion this fall, we need the paperwork AND registration fee in ASAP so we can start our supply and book ordering. Please don't wait to the last minute because these orders must be completed so everything is here on time for September. If you have not decided whether to keep your child here or enroll him/her in another school, we have plenty of space in Mrs. Roseboom's class still! I would also love it if the whole class stayed so I would get to see all the smiling faces again next year.

Additionally, I still have space in both Pre-K classes for this fall. If you know of someone who has a child turning 3 or 4 before Dec 1st and will be looking for a school experience for that child, send our information along! Mrs. Robinson and I would love to have a nice full class for next year! We appreciate this and all the other support you have shown to us, our classroom and school.

Finally, thank you all for a wonderful year! I have enjoyed working with your children very much, and I really appreciate all the parent support and help we have received. Things would not have run as smoothly with out your cooperation. You and your children have been a blessing in my life this year! Have a great summer and I hope to see many of you in the fall!

Blessed Be,
~Miss Schendel
