KINDERGARTEN - FIRST Print E-mail

As I finish one year, I am looking forward to next year.  The combination of Kindergarten and first is a challenge, but with the help of my aide, Mrs. Schrader, the day flows  well and the children do get the appropriate instruction.  I am excited to have the chance to teach the students I had last year, and I look forward to the new students who will join the class.  The children not be referred to as “kindergarteners” or “First Graders”.  They will be “Caterpillars” and “Butterflies” respectively, and will decorate the room and start the year discussing them.

Sometime in August, I will be contacting the Kindergarten class  to set up a home visit.  I am already familiar with the 1st graders and have visited them last year.  I am looking forward to meeting the children before school starts.  This is your chance to ask any questions about what we will be doing, or about the school.

At the bottom of this letter is a supply list.  I am sure that your child will enjoy picking out their supplies with you.  You will notice that there is no pencil box on the supply list.  The tables that are in the room have tracks underneath that will hold a drawer that each child can put their supplies in.

Each family is asked to purchase a t-shirt ordered by the school for the children to wear on field trips.  The youth size shirt is $7; and a sweatshirt is $13.50.  Adult sizes are available for parents if you are interested.  At the visit I will be asking what size shirt your child will need.  The money is due at the visit or by the second week of school.  If your child already has a shirt from this past year that still fits, then there is no need to purchase a shirt.

I hope that you have a wonderful summer and I am looking forward to meeting new faces and to an exciting year.  If you have any questions or concerns throughout the summer, please call me at (607)217-4171.

 God Bless,

Heather Roseboom
