FOURTH - FIFTH Print E-mail

The students are really looking forward to the end of school—counting down weeks and days.  Another item they’re counting down to is the class trip.  I originally scheduled it for June 4, but with the yard sale that weekend, June 11 is a better date.  Please be aware of the date change!

The last section we will work on in science this year is more life science—ecosystems.  We have been learning many new and interesting ways to think about the “wonderful world of animals” around each of us.  A large part of this includes ecosystems—so the children are sure to find oodles of interesting ideas in this section!

Everyone has enjoyed learning a bit more about the Northeast region that we live in.  The next chapter will finish our study of the NE, and the following unit will begin the Middle West area of the US.  Many exciting things happened in history in the Midwest, and it will be a lot of fun finding out about them.

Our memory work for the next few weeks will continue to be Ephesians 6:10+, until we have all the verses down pat for the Closing Program on June 17.  As you probably already know, the children have been practicing lines for a short skit, and the verses will come at the end of the play.  We have been practicing and sound nice—keep up the good work!

Spelling will be winding down soon, but we will continue to squeeze in as many stories in reading as possible.  We’re trying for the end of the book!

Please see the articles elsewhere in this newsletter for information about the last day celebration, Closing Program, and the Strawberry Fest Float.

As this is the end of newsletters for the year, I just want to say--what a great bunch of students I have been blessed with this year.  I know we work hard in a variety of ways, but it is so worth the effort when I see what wonderful accomplishments they have made academically, and spiritually.  They are all such caring and compassionate children.  They’re ready to share the love of Christ with anyone.  They’re constantly helping each other and any of the other children they see that might need a hand.  That attitude has made our classroom a wonderful place to be, and I would like to thank all of you for sharing the year with me.

God Bless and have a Wonderful Summer!

Miss Pawlak
